By Joern Fischer
Quite a few years ago, I started the blog “Ideas for Sustainability” as a forum to reflect on what’s happening in and around the kind of research I like: social-ecological systems research, and work on biodiversity conservation, especially in real-world landscapes. Over the last few years, the blog went to sleep a bit, but also in that same time period, we created a very lively “Social-Ecological Systems Institute” at Leuphana University.
Ideas for Sustainability will continue to exist, but will become the platform for the entire institute. This means it will not primarily showcase my own views or experiences, but those of the institute as a whole. This will make it a more diverse and more interesting blog.
Also, the formats will change and improve: in the future, you will read personal reflections as well as summaries of research articles that we published; but also interviews with members of the institute about particular issues that are currently interesting.
So … stay tuned!
If you haven’t seen it already, you can also check out our youtube channel. More soon! 😊
