I’d like to draw to your attention a new PhD position to be filled soon at Leuphana University Lueneburg, with my friend and colleague Henrik von Wehrden. It is part of a new project in Mongolia. The complete advertisement can be found here: PhD position DFG Mongolei
Key tasks and requirements include:
- Implementation of the respective parts of the DFG-funded project „The Responses of plant performance and functional diversity along a climate and land-use gradient in Mongolia” in cooperation with the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena and the Natural History Museum Senckenberg in Görlitz:
– Sampling of community patterns and species traits in two 3-months sampling periods
– Characterization of the environmental conditions of the sampling sites
– Plant determination in Halle/Saale, Lüneburg and Görlitz
– GIS-based analyses of remote sensing data
– Data analyses with modern statistical approaches in R
– Publication of the most relevant scientific results in adequate journals - Interest in obtaining a PhD in the respective field based on the project work outlined above
